Philodendron

New plants will start being ninja restocked…the poor website cannot handle the excitement of the regular restocks. Finally coming out of winter and propagating. Look for new plants to arrive on the website as the warm weather kicks everything into gear!

Philodendrons are found from the tropical Americas to the West Indies. Compared to many other genus, philodendrons are very diverse. They can be any form from tiny little rambing plants to enormous behemoths that race to the tops of the tree canopy. They can even vary strikingly from juvenile to mature leaves. The leaves of different philodendron species vary as well. For instance, Philodendron verrucosum has irridescent, almost velvety leaves, while Philodendorn warszewiczii almost looks like a fern.

Philodendrons have been very popular house plants for generations due to their ease of culture and tropical look. In general Philodendrons like to be kept moist with good air circulation, although some species do like to be a bit drier. In climbing species if you provide a suitable climbing host such as a tree in warm climates or a totem, the leaves of your philodendron will get much larger than they would if you just left it ramble in a pot. We fertilize our philodendrons 2x a year with time released Nutricote.
