Description

First time I saw this tree, I was like, what anthurium is that?! And honestly you may find this plant cheaper as a bare root import, but then you can also go through importing it 4 times like I did before you get it to establish (Also like I did) The plants being offered are well established and rooted and ready to take off for you.

Cybianthus anthuriophyllus is a highly sought-after, rare tropical plant belonging to the Primulaceae family. Despite being closely related to primroses, it is famous for its striking aroid-like appearance, featuring persistent, leathery, dark green foliage that dramatically resembles a bird’s nest Anthurium. The specific name anthuriophyllus literally translates to “with Anthurium leaves”. Endemic to the humid, low-elevation rainforest understories stretching from eastern Ecuador to northern Peru. Recently, wild populations were also discovered in the Andean-Amazonian foothills of Colombia. While grown primarily for its structural, dark green leaves, the undersides of the foliage can exhibit a stunning, deep purple coloration. It produces small, inconspicuous clusters of whitish or greenish flowers
