Description
This is the purple form of this beautiful plant. Looking superficially like a bromeliad, it is actually in the Commelinaceae family. It grows in a rosette and bright purple and blue flowers cover this plant for much of the year. It is brighter purple in brighter light, (not full sun) and I find mine have better color in the winter. The plants available have leaves about 8″ long. Plants are similar to the second photo
