Description

While this species is quite common in nature, it is almost nonexistant in collections. Perhaps because it is such a large growing plant. It can easily grow to an 8 ft spread and is a self heading variety and does not climb. It will grow quite happily as an epiphyte if you have a lare enough tree. This species occurs in Venezuela, French Guiana, and much of Brazil. The petioles can be reddish in bright light, but are usually green if grown in the shade.
This is really a beautiful philo that will become the highlight of any tropical garden, and is great as a specimen plant. Plants available have leaves about 4-6″ long
