Its name means “Black gold”…apparently describing the tiny sparkles on the leaves when the plant is in the sunlight. The leaves on this velvety climbing Philo will stretch out to an impressive 3 ft! Iridescent black-green with pale green veins highlight this already impressive aroid. P. melanochrysum is found naturally from Columbia into Ecuador and down to Peru and is known to be variable. Really a show stopper!
