Philodendron luxurians

Now THIS is a good one! I’ve seen this fantastic Philodendron for years picture in the old Exotica plant book, but had never met it in person. When I first laid eyes on it, I knew immediately what it was! This tiger striped, velvety aroid also has an irridescent sheen to the leaves. Incredible! Said to be from the Choco area of Columbia, this is arguably one of the most beautiful Philodendrons in my collection. While it has not yet been formally described, it will be officially Philodendron luxurians. P. luxurians perfers low light and a well draining soil. It has a creeping habit similar to P. gloriosum and it crawls along the ground. Leaves about 6-8″ long
